Drive One For Your School
Posted in: Ford Stuff, Our Community | Comments (0)
Ford’s “Drive One For Your School” project was a huge success at Scott High School during the summer months of 2011. Travis Fair from Stephens Auto Center stated, “…we were able to donate $5,300 from Ford to the Girl’s Softball Team through their efforts with the Drive One For Your School Event held at Scott High School.”
Many folks showed up to participate in the event and to take a Ford for a test drive.
D.A. Harless, coach of the Scott High School Girls Softball Team went on to say “…it’s a great thing what Ford is doing. It helps tremendously to know that this program is available and the money that was made will go a long way. The girls also learn a little responsibility by working the event and we’re very thankful to the community for supporting us!”

Vehicle Winterizing Tips
Posted in: Safety | Comments (0)
Gary Woodrum, Service Manager at Stephens Auto Center, explains a few tips for winterizing your vehicle and making this upcoming winter season a little more safe for you and your family.
We asked Gary about winterizing our car and what we should do, he gave us a few tips:
1) Get your vehicle’s coolant checked.
2) Check your battery.
3) Check the air in your tires.
4) Make sure you have a “winter safety kit” in your car per Dept. of Transportation recommendations and check out the winter driving safety video below.
5) Check the tread on your tires.
Gary explains: “…for tire tread, you can use the old method of taking a penny, turning it upside down and inserting it into the tread on your tires. If Lincoln’s head doesn’t touch the tread line on your tires, you may need to get new tires”.
And of course, if you have any doubts about the winterization of your vehicle, stop by our Service Department. Our certified technicians are on hand to check your vehicle and to answer any questions you may have.

OEM Parts vs. Inferior “Cheap” Parts, Save a little now, pay more later.
Posted in: Gear Heads | Comments (0)
While some folks tend to want to “save a few dollars” by going the “cheap route” when buying vehicle parts, most of us know, the Original Equipment Manufacture parts, such as Mopar (Chrysler) and Motorcraft (Ford) are engineered to exacting specifications and in the long run, these factory parts actually save us money. With fewer replacements over time, most OEM parts are better designed and easier to install than their after-market knock-offs.
Rob Keffer, Parts Department Manager at Stephens Auto Center gave us a brief interview, explaining the ins and outs of OEM parts engineering.
Rob went on to explain, “…Ford and Chrysler Parts are specifically engineered for the proper application on each vehicle model. Their design allows technicians to install the parts more easily, saving time and money for repairs.”
It’s easy to see, OEM parts are the most economical in the long run.
